Hi all,

when am trying to copy some text from visio file, following error message occuring.

can anybody help in this.

Visio internal error # -1

Action 1021: copy

First try closing and reopening the file. next try restarting visio.

Hi,

This kind of error is generally seen when a file has some corruption, possibly very minor — meaning that you can still open and print, for instance, but some action, like copying
shapes, causes an error.

If you have one or two files that seem to see this problem, try cleaning them up (after making backup copies) using suggestions from this article:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/826418

Specifically, try the «Methods to try if you can open the drawing» section:

Method 1: Save the file as an XML drawing

Save the drawing as an XML drawing (.vdx file), and then save the XML drawing as a drawing (.vsd file). To do this:
1. Start Visio, and then open your drawing.
2. On the
  File menu, click Save As.
3. In the
  Save As dialog box, click XML Drawing (*.vdx)in theSave as type box, and then type a file name in theFile name box. Specify a location where you want to save the drawing file, and then clickSave.
4. Close all the drawings that are currently open.
5. On the
  File menu, click Open.
6. Locate the XML drawing (.vdx) that you saved earlier in step 3, and then clickOpen.
7. On the
  File menu, click Save As.
8. In the
  Save As dialog box, click Drawing (*.vsd) in the
  Save as type box, and then type a file name in the File name box. Specify a location where you want to save the drawing file, and then clickSave.
9. Close the drawing.
10. On the
  File menu, click Open
11. Locate the drawing (.vsd file) that you saved earlier in step 8, and then clickOpen.
There are other options in that section, but this one is the most effective.

If the above method cannot solve the issue, then try to upgrade to Visio 2010 to check the issue.

Hey,

I keep getting an internal error in MS Visio 2007 — ‘Visio Internal Error #-1
Action 1021 — copy’. I am sure this is something small, but any idea on how
to clear it? It is driving me crazy. I have closed and reopened the program
and completely closed and restarted my computer to try to fix, but it’s still
there!

Sounds like this would be an error that you get when trying to copy a shape
or shapes from one page or drawing to another. It’s possible that this
indicates some file corruption. If you get the same error when trying this
in new, clean drawings, then it sounds like a corrupted install instead.

If file corruption is the case, you can review an article with various
steps to try to repair or work around drawing corruption:

One method that works pretty well for corruption in files is «Method 1:
Save the file as an XML drawing «. This involves saving copies of a
drawing into XML and back into binary format.

Hi,

Whenever I try to copy (CTRL + C) text from Visio I get error internal error #2407 Action 1021:Copy

Any ideas? This happens on new docs, existing docs.

Very frustrating when trying tocopy object data.

Hi,

What’s your detailed Visio version? In Visio 2016, click File > Account > About Visio to check it. Does the issue only happen when copying text box?

Additionally, would you mind to share the detailed steps which you used to reproduce the issue? Also confirm if the shapes or text boxes are grouped when you copy it.

Try to do a safe mode starting for Visio applictaion: Press Win+R to open Run in Windows, type Visio /safe, press Enter.

ну вот на самом интересном месте все закончилось…
у меня ReplaceShape тоже глючит, что с ним делать то?

Хотя возможно от того, что флаги были добавлены методу ReplaceShape, где-то в 2017-2018. Попробуйте подобрать флаг Дополнено позднее: Методом телепатии мне удалось вычислить среди своих знакомых автора вопроса. Ему удалось самостоятельно решить проблему: открыть образец на который меняем; выделить все шейпы и сгруппировать; сохранить образец Мастер-шейп (образец) на который производится замена должен быть группой или единичной фигурой!!! _________________ База знаний ShapeSheet Мой Youtube-канал @surrogate-tm Мои трафареты
