Hello all, sorry that my 1st post here is a cry for expert help!
I have a 2019 Audi RS3, and did a few little modifications that have now caused and electrical error I can’t figure out. Basically, I plugged a divice called a FIS-Control into the gateway module under the dash, and ate same time I added some R8 style start/stop and drive select buttons to my steering wheel. Though all of this the negative battery terminal was disconnected (as I had to pull the airbag). All went well, everything worked, but yesterday I to in the car and the battery was dead. I’m still not sure at this point it was my error leaving the ignition on after fiddling around, or if it is a battery drain form one of these 2 devices, but I have now disconnected both after running and getting 1 single error on the Gateway module (19) — U103000 (66567) Local Data Bus — Electrical Error. I will post an autoscan in the morning…
Now I’m not sure if I have damaged the gateway module? Is there any way to tell? The car runs fine and seem to be holding a charge but I’ve not driven it any distance yet.
The other thought is the J367 battery regulator on the negative battery terminal. Are these say to damage? I was not aware they should be unplugged 1st before removing the battery lead? Is there any way to test this module and see if it is communication?
Lastly, I’ve not yet disconnected the aftermarket steering wheel buttons that plug into the back of the right side multifunction buttons on the steering wheel. Is it possible the steering wheel could be the cause of this error?
Any thoughts, input or advice would be hugely appreciated.
I have seen china clone buttons do weird thing in these cars. I am not accusing you of using china clone buttons but I would suspect they are far from . I have seen some bed bad straight out of the box. In regards to your faults local databus faulty means theres a communication issue in the databus i’m gonna guess canbus with fis control installed. I would check if any sort of coding needs to be changed after installing. I would also check all connectors are seated properly. Basically go over everything your put in verify all connections. Finally the dead battery I would assume possibly a button is keeping databus awake or a module draining battery this is my guess. Please post auto scan.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, they are china clone buttons. Is the steering wheel multifunction button related to the (CANBUS) gateway (module 19) at all? If so I’ll take my wheel back apart and unplug from the MF buttons and see if the code clears. All connections are checked and double checked otherwise. How likely is it i’ve damaged the J533 if its still working other than the ?
Oh and no coding required for the FIS controller… works great, but code remains with it unplugged.

There’s no way gateway was damaged. Can bus has relatively low voltage 1.5-3.75v tops so I would not worry about damage to gateway if gateway was damaged trust me you’d would have a ton of issues and this car would not run as gateway routes all the traffic to various modules in this car.

I have now removed the aftermarket buttons but I still get this code/error below. All multifunction buttons seem to be working, so I’m at a loss. Have I damaged the J453 module? Does the scan reference to the J453 module mean the error code is for that module specifically, or does it mean it is a general error somewhere on that bus? This the the steering wheel button set I plugged the aftermarket buttons into so maybe it overloaded them, but I would expect then that they stop working and the code to clear when removed, but it remains. Not sure what to do next?
I plugged onto an clone today and the guided functions there had me test the gateway module and voltage regulator at the battery, which seem to be ok. It found nothing relating to the steering wheel multifunction, so it is interesting that references this — if the blow error is on that module specifically?

Fault is related to wire. Clear fault see if it comes back. steering wheel buttons may be on bus. Are these the instruction your using:
using or check communication in steering control module. Test all buttons. Also clear fault see if it returns.

Cleared codes many many time and always comes back. Did- control is out of the equation and unplugged, but yes that is the device. It seems the steering wheel buttons are on the bus, but how can I know if they are the cause short of replacing them?

Could you kindly point me to where I’ll find that in ? I’m a rookie. What is , and what module would I find the steering wheel controls in if not the 19 gateway? Is it live data I’m looking for to watch the key presses? All keys on the whee are functioning as they should…
Steering control module should be address word 16. = measured value blocks . I would check all connections near steering wheel if it was removed. I would check all connectors and reseat everything if needed. Not sure if this vehicle will have module 16 as it is newer. However I do believe cars should have it. It may be integrated into the clock spring on this vehicle.
There’s no module 16 unfortunately.
I would look in gateway then possibly. See if therea anything in there but I would assume it would have steering column electronics.
You can see my list of modules in the auto scan above, would you mind having a look. There’s nothing obvious to me.
I noticed just now that the start-stop function is also having an error. I know that voltage plays a roll in whether it can be engaged, so I wonder if it could be the voltage regulator on the battery (J367). Do they go bad?
Not unless its connected I haven’t seen one fail yet. I would possibly look in 46 module. That’s the only thing that I would think may have it.

Yes, J367 voltage regulator is connected to the . I guess I’ll get a used one and a MF switch, and replace them. Expensive lesson in Chinese parts!
I dont think anything is damaged if you ask me just a loose connection somewhere this is my opinion.

Ошибка CAN Gateway — 00470 — Combination comfort Databus in Single Wire
Приветствую всех!
Столкнулся с проблемой, при подключении блока сигнализации (сигнализация с интегрированным модулем CAN), вылезает ошибка «00470 — Combination comfort Databus in Single Wire». Сигнализация не выполняет функции которые заявлены к Passat B6 (открывание/закрывание замков, мигание поворотниками и.т.д).
Может кто-нибудь сталкивался с подобным? Как победили?

По сути, скорее всего при подключении сигнализации или оборвали проводку CAN-шины или плохо надели фишку на какой-либо из блоков. Вариант только один — проверять всю проводку на предмет, замыкания/обрыва.
Попробуйте в других блоках ошибки проверить, чтобы наверняка узнакть по дороге к какому из блоков проводку смотреть.

Спасибо за информацию, но ситуация такова, как только модуль сигнализации подключен по CAN тут же появляется эта ошибка. Другие модули не рапорутуют об ошибках. Если сигнализацию отключить и стереть ошибку, то она не появляется. Как понимаю, сигнализация коротит шину?….

Вообщем проблема была решена после консультации сервисном центре starline, я не правильно подключил массу сигналки.
По образу и подобию сигнализаций установленный ранее на моей машине подключался также (в те же точки). НО!!!! подключаться нужно как положено, т.е лучше всего к одной из точек массы под пластиковую шайбу, куда приходят КОРИЧНЕВЫЕ ПРОВОДА!!!!.

Я подключался в ногах водителя к толстому черному проводу (куда была подключена предыдущая сигналка) и она работала не очень стабильно по словам бывшего хозяина. Хотя я проверял тестером минус там был постоянный. Вообщем в назидание потомкам подключайтесь лучше всего к точкам массы, которые раскиданы по салону.

Штатный черный провод — не постоянная земля. Если провод нештатный, вероятно, плохое крепление к кузову.

Assuming no OBD11 software error and based purely on the scant information provided — I suspect that there is a mismatch between the modules that have been registered on the CAN network for this car in the Gateway Installation List (GIL) and the modules that are actually installed in the car. For the CAN system to operate correctly in diagnostic mode, the two must be the same and when the car left the VW production line — the two were the same!! So — because of the way that the GIL was populated when this car was built — it maybe that somehow changes have been made to the GIL in the intervening period (I assume that you haven’t added any new modules). If you are using Android, you can automatically restore the GIL by activating AUTOCODE — see instructions below from whataboutthis : If you are using iOS, you will need to restore the GIL manually. To do this, look at the Control Units screen (i.e. the first screenshot below) and in particular — notice the color surrounding the module number Modules that are properly registered in the GIL will have either green (no module faults), or red (module faults present) coloring. Incorrectly registered modules in the GIL will have a yellow (module installed but not registered), or black (module registered, but not installed) coloring To fix — follow the steps below (add tick to the missing module IDs in the last screenshot):

Привет, друзья!
Прошу помочь расшифровать ошибку, которая регулярно появляется в Gateway: Data bus OBD interface: internal gps module fault C10DDF4
Машина 2019 года с самым базовым ГУ без навигации.Дилер просто стирает ошибку без комментариев о причинах. Неприятно видеть ошибки в свежей машине, беспокоит возможность проблем с проводкой и непонимание куда копать.

Thanks very much for the great reply dv52. I am using the IOS version of the OBDeleven app, so it looks different to the image you’ve posted with those directions to get the scan report.
I’ve just exported my ‘history’ log, but I don’t know if that contains the same level of detail that you’d need to get a better idea? I presume this history log simply shows all actions that have been carried out on this OBDeleven for this car?
I know that I did start a full backup (there were 4 options I could tick/check to backup I think). I selected all 4 and started a backup process but it looked like it was going to take ages and I didn’t have time to sit there and wait so I cancelled that backup. I may have also initiated a backup of just one of the options presented to me, to see how long that would take, but again, think I cancelled that). I presume this wouldn’t have harmed anything?! It certainly didn’t suggest it would, by offering me the cancel option, and when I cancelled it didn’t complain.
Aside from that, when I first plugged the OBDeleven in, I heard the car doing some bits before I even pressed anything in the app (almost like a mini-sweep over things). I then did a full scan, where it went through ?26 or 27? different modules scanning? I’m not sure if I ended up scanning anything more than once (I see some things duplicated in the history log), but I definitely haven’t made any adaptions or run any apps on the car.
