Issue
You receive the error message, «Error 1305, error reading from file:…» when you try to install an Adobe product on a Windows system.
Solutions
Do one or more of the following solutions:
Solution 1: Clean the CD.
Clean the CD with a lint-free cloth before you install the application.
Solution 2: Copy the installer files to the desktop, then install the application.
1. Click Start > My Computer.
2. Right click on your CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drive and select Open.
3. Right click on the product name you are trying to install (for example, Adobe Acrobat Professional 7.0, or Adobe Premier Elements) and select Copy.
4. Close all open windows and applications.
5. Right click on a blank area of your desktop and select Paste.
6. After files finish copying, open up the copied folder and run setup.exe and follow the prompts.
Solution 3: Test CD/DVD in another computer.
If the CD/DVD works in another computer, then the first machine may have a defective CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive or a software conflict that prevents the drive from reading the disk properly.
Solution 4: Contact Adobe Technical Support
Adobe Technical Support can obtain logs from your machine to determine additional information about the failure. Please contact Adobe Technical Support if the information provided has not helped to resolve your issue.

Adobe Reader DC msi
Hi
I’m trying to install Adobe Reader remotely and silently to a set of PCs in a Windows Domain.
I have setup a network share, ABC-Deploy$, containing the Acroread.msi together with a GPO (software install) policy to effect this. So far I have not managed to get it working.
Having spent some time trying to isolate what I thought might be a policy failure, I decided simply to click on the MSI in the shared folder to see if it would install. I did this as an admin user on the server itself i.e. where the shared folder containing the msi resides. After the ‘do you want to install’ preamble the attempts fail with the following prompt:-
Error 1305.Error reading from file C:ABC-Deploy$AcroRdrDC2200320282_en_USAcroRead.msi. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it.
Clearly the file does exist as I have just clicked on it. I have researched this ad nauseam looking at share permissions, NTFS permissions, msiexec parms, admin user rights, clearing temporary files, clearing the registry etc all to no avail. I concentrated on permissions since the msiexec.exe runs under SYSTEM and I’m calling it from a domain admin user.
At present, the ABC-Deploy$ folder has the following permissions:-
| Share Permissions | Value |
|---|---|
| Everyone | Full Control |
| NTFS Permissions | Value |
|---|---|
| Everyone | Full Control |
| SYSTEM | Full Control |
| Local Admins | Full Control |
| ANONYMOUS LOGON | Read |
| All PCs (Domain Security Grp) | Read and Execute |
| sysadmin (Domain Administrator) | Full Control |
I have tried many, many permutations of permissions none of which seem to make any difference.
Any ideas how to resolve this anyone?
Thanks

How To Fix Error 1305 – Upgraded to hopper with two wired juices ~3 months ago. This works perfectly for the first two months. In the last two weeks, one of the Joyce has been misbehaving and showing error 1305 more and more. (See screenshot below.) The error sometimes clears up but in the worst case I have to reset the joy to get the image back. The MOCA status displayed on the hopper shows the joy’s fault and indicates that all is well.
The problem I’m having with the Joy is connected by an old RG59 cable leading from my old 722k to the Joy that the Hopper replaced. I didn’t look, but I believe the tech installed a “splitter” inline with RG6 cable that feeds the node’s hopper (RG6 feeding the hopper and RG59 feeding the joy).

The installation is at my cottage and I won’t be there for a week or so. My next step is to swap out the joy to see if it’s a wiring problem. (The other Joy is fed by RG6 cable directly from the node and I have no problem with Joy #2).
Issues With Julia: Package Not Properly Installed
In the meantime do you think the problem is with the joy or the wiring?. Anyone seen this and have any ideas? I’m afraid I’ll have to replace the RG59 with RG6.

RG59 is suitable for feeding juices. If it’s damaged that’s one thing but the same would apply to the RG6.
My Joey gives the same message on occasion but almost always corrects himself. I think if Hopper is on standby it will do this until Hopper wakes up.

Game Lags Badly
Thank you Hopper is on, off, live TV mode, DVR mode, you name it when the error occurs. I can’t tell. The definitive test will be when I swap out the Joy later this week to see if I can repeat the problem with Joy #2 connected.
Looks like I’ll be getting new wire in the bedroom. System is intermittently reporting bad MOCA connection/status between Hopper and Joy. MoCA2 RxPower = -40 dBm when the connection is bad (versus -17dBM on a good circuit running in another bedroom.) Don’t let the Windows errors deter you. This software will fix your PC and improve its performance – download it now to get started.

For each account submission, the client has domain administrator rights. SCCM transfers the ccmSetup.exe file to the PC MobileClient.tcf file. I think it was a policy issue I had with the domain, private and public firewalls. Same problem. If we run ccmsetup, exe on the whole machine, it fixes and balances the client. Error 1305 indicates only the revision level, which was unknown until now. I tried to delete WMI on the client. While installing, don’t forget to check the “Always install client software” box.
